YOKOHAMA Develops New Inner Liner Technology for Commercial Vehicle

Yokohoma announced the development of a new inner liner technology for commercial vehicle, that improves the ability to maintain air pressure.

As a matter of fact this new inner liner reduces the natural air leakage by about 30% and maintains air pressure better. The consequence is the production of lighter tires that will be soon introduced at plants overseas. At the moment the new liners are manufactured and tested only in Japan.

The reduction of tires' inflation will also reduce fuel consumption due to rolling resistance, and improve wear and safety. These are the main reasons that pushed YoKohama to research and develop a new inner liner technology since 2009 and these are the good results.
